Compressed Natural Gas fueling stations opens in Altoona

ALTOONA, Pa. - The 29th Compressed Natural Gas fueling station in the state opened in Altoona Monday. The new Fifth Avenue location is part of the Public Private Partnership. “We are making steady progress towards our goal of having CNG fueling stations across Pennsylvania,” Gov. Tom Wolf said. “The benefits include more efficiency, cleaner burning fuels and lower fuel costs for our transit agencies.” With the introduction of the Altoona station, AMTRAN-Altoona will convert 28 buses to CNG. Father receives parole for toddler daughter's dehydration death

LUZERNE CO. (WOLF) — A father was sentenced to immediate parole on involuntary manslaughter of his 19-month-old daughter. According to our newsgathering partners at the Times Leader, James Robert Kasisky Jr. was sentenced to immediate parole for the Dec. 2022 death of his daughter Phoenix. Investigation showed that Phoenix was left in her room for 26 hours in a high-heat, low-humidity environment without nutrition or hydration. Girl, 3, accidentally shot to death in apartment

MONROEVILLE, Pa. (AP) — Authorities say a 3-year-old girl died in what is believed to have been an accidental shooting in a western Pennsylvania apartment. Allegheny County police said officers in Monroeville were called to the Cambridge Square Apartments shortly after 9 p.m. Friday and found the victim with a single gunshot wound.
