Harvard rules to no longer speak on issues 'outside its core function'

CAMBRIDGE, Mass. (TND) — Harvard University announced Tuesday it will no longer comment on “issues outside its core function,” citing a desire to not become “a government.” The decision follows a report by two university working groups which examined the impact of statements by Harvard and other universities. According to the Pennsylvania Department of Revenue, The PA Crimes Code provides that all forms of gambling are illegal unless the Pennsylvania Legislature authorizes the gambling activity by statute. Raffles, pools, and drawings seem to be benign forms of gambling but they still apply to the Pennsylvania law.
