Former Lackawanna Co. defense attorney sentenced for soliciting sex acts as legal payment

LACKAWANNA CO. (WOLF) — A former Lackawanna County defense attorney who pleaded guilty to soliciting sex acts for legal services has been sentenced. Corey Kolcharno was sentenced Thursday to four to 23 months in prison, followed by 2 years probation for providing legal services to female clients in exchange for sexual acts and materials. He had previously pleaded guilty to four felony counts of promoting prostitution. Kolcharno was also required to surrender his license to practice law as part of the plea agreement. Read More...

Judge dismisses charge against Johnstown woman accused of causing grandson's death

Johnstown, PA (WJAC) — During a preliminary hearing Thursday afternoon, Magisterial District Judge Kevin Price dismissed charges, without prejudice, against a Johnstown grandmother accused of causing the death of her 3-month-old grandson. Citing the available testimony at the hearing and recent changes in the hearsay laws, Judge Price dismissed the sole count of child endangerment, without prejudice, against 40-year-old Peggy Lightcap.
