School officials warn parents of possible predator contacting students on Snapchat

DUBOIS, Pa. (WJAC) — Local school officials are warning parents of a possible online predator who’s been contacting students. Officials with DuBois Area School District sent out a notice to parents this week regarding a Snapchat account called “Chrisrunstheroc,” that’s been contacting students in the DuBois Area School District and other local school districts requesting inappropriate information that’s sexual in nature. “Some reports involve this individual posing as an incoming male student saying that he is transferring from Florida and will be enrolling as a new student promptly,” the notice to parents read. Three local players get selected in MLB Draft

JOHNSTOWN — The third and final day of the Major League Baseball Draft is complete. Three players with ties to west-central Pennsylvania got drafted. The Pittsburgh Pirates selected Ferndale High School graduate Trey McGough in the 24th round. McGough is a left-handed pitcher. He played three seasons at Mount St. Mary's, during his college career. Windber Wings-N-Waves cancelled in response to new COVID-19 restrictions

WINDBER, Pa. (WJAC) — Windber Wings-N-Waves has been cancelled following Gov. Tom Wolf’s newly announced restrictions to prevent the spread of COVID-19. The weekly event kicked off last Thursday, but organizer Matt Grohal says the vent has now been cancelled for the rest of the year.
