Joe Exotic reaches out to Kim Kardashian for help getting out of jail

HOLLYWOOD (WKRC) - Joe Maldonado-Passage, better known as Joe Exotic, reached out to Kim Kardashian for help getting out of prison.

On May 19, the 62-year-old took to Instagram and left a message on one of Kendall Jenner's photo posts.

"Have your sister reach out please. I want to show her the videos of them all admitting to perjury. She helps those wrongfully incarcerated right?" Exotic wrote on the post.

Exotic's message has garnered over 1,400 likes, with several commenters voicing both support and criticism of the self-styled "Tiger King."

"Free Joe Exotic!!" one wrote.

"You murdered tigers and exploited them for years...all for profit. You're where you belong," another wrote.

Exotic returned on May 20 and posted another message on Jenner's post, writing:

"There’s 600 unseen video files uploaded they gave my attorneys of them secretly recording each other talking about how they set me up and admitting they lied... @kimkardashian I’m innocent and in prison, help me out. This isn’t right,” Exotic wrote.

Kim Kardashian, the daughter of lawyer Robert Kardashian, has been a vocal activist for criminal justice reform and spoke alongside Vice President Kamala Harris back on April 25. According to the Associated Press, she was a regular presence at the White House during the Trump administration after she struck a partnership with the then-president's son-in-law, Jared Kushner, who took on criminal justice reform as one of his initiatives.

In 2020, the documentary "Kim Kardashian West: The Justice Project" was released, which focused on her advocacy.

Kardashian has been vocal about her desire to become a lawyer ever since she revealed that she had begun studying to follow in her father's footsteps back in May of 2019.

When asked if she would consider a life out of the public spotlight at a TIME100 Summit in 2023, Kardashian said she would be "happy being an attorney full time," according to PEOPLE.

Exotic is known for his appearance in the Netflix documentary "Tiger King." He was arrested back in 2018 and later sentenced to 22 years in federal prison on 17 federal charges of animal abuse and charges related to his role in a 2017 murder-for-hire scheme to kill Carole Baskin, a prominent animal rights activist in Tampa, Florida.

Exotic has reached out to several celebrities for help getting out of jail, including Bengals QB Joe "Burrows."

Neither Kim Kardashian or Kendall Jenner have publicly responded to Exotic's request.
