Game commissioners delay reintroduction of American martens into Pennsylvania

In an interesting turn of events, the Pennsylvania Board of Game Commissioners tabled the reintroduction of American Martens back into the state, instead of moving forward with an official vote. This was one of the decisions made at the most recent board meeting Saturday. Johnstown delays re-opening of Inclined Plane due to late parts delivery

Johnstown, PA (WJAC) — Johnstown officials announced Wednesday that the reopening of the Inclined Plane has been delayed to next spring. Officials say the primary reason for delaying the reopening to 2024 is a delay in the delivery of "sheave wheels," which the cables attach to and help pull the car up the tracks. The transit authority says the last two wheels were supposed to be delivered this week, but officials are now being told that the delivery will be made in mid-June. Read More...

Local group organizes St. Patrick's Day pool tournament for special needs individuals

CAMBRIA COUNTY, Pa (WJAC) — A pool tournament, hosted by a group that works with people with special needs, was held Sunday in Cambria County. The tournament was held at Mully's Billiards, located along Scalp Avenue in Johnstown, and was hosted by the organization Crossroads to Independence. Competitors were dressed in green for Saint Patrick’s Day as they moved from table to table for a skills competition.
